WHAT ARE SUPPORT SOCKS?

What are support stockings and how do they actually work?

Feet and legs are exposed to high pressure and sometimes it can be difficult for the heart to pump around the oxygen-poor blood in the legs up to the lungs to be oxygenated.

This is where support socks come into play. The point of using support stockings is to increase the blood circulation in the legs. By having increased pressure around the ankle, with a decreasing pressure up along the leg, we help the oxygen-poor blood to get up to the heart. In this way, blood circulation is stimulated and the blood is oxygenated.

The pressure around the ankle is called compression and there are different compression classes depending on how tight the sock is.

Our support stockings are used for preventive purposes and have a compression of 15-18mmHg. Perfect for everyday use.
